One of my favorite forms of consuming content is via podcasts. I began dabbling in them to keep up with the sermons at my home church while I was away at college. I now also listen to them to gain inspiration on how to grow ideas. They help me keep up to snuff with my constitutional law and history. Rather than listen to the news, I learn about presidents past and fictional. I get my fix of real-life love stories. They have helped me see the hidden economics behind everything. And I’ve learned to give the past a second chance.
Podcasts, like audiobooks, are great because they help mundane tasks more productive. I listen to them while driving to and from work, while cleaning around the house, while exercising, and sometimes even in the rare moment I have nothing else to do but sit on the couch.
I assumed that I would continue in perpetuity as a podcast junkie, always consuming, never contributing. But that has changed. I have now been a guest on two podcasts!
The first was a conversation I had with my friend Josephine about reading and continuing one’s education and self-development.
The second was an interview I did with two volunteers at the last GYC convention about time management.
While I won’t be giving up my day job, I had a great time doing both of these interviews. (Side note: Apparently I say “and things like this.” A lot. At least I did in both podcasts.Eek. Mortifying. It sounds so…so…I don’t even know. I will try to be more self-aware and edit this tag out of my speech.)
Take some time and give both a listen, then come on back and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear your thoughts on reading, history, the law, ministry, time management, and anything else we discussed on these platforms!
You are, like, the time management Master!
